CNC Operator CertificateEngineering, Math and Physical Sciences Division, Room T302, (847) 543-2044https://www.clcillinois.edu/programs/egrdv/precision-machining-technology The CNC Operator certificate allows graduates immediate employment skills working with many of the local employers in high-tech manufacturing environments operating and tending to different machine tools. The courses are designed to provide the basic knowledge necessary to get started as a CNC machine operator, manual machinist or CNC machinist. The coursework will provide an introduction to basic manual mills and lathes, CNC machine operation, machine and shop safety, fundamental machining processes, interpreting blueprints and inspection & measuring techniques. The Precision Machining Technology program is accredited by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) and national credentialing is available. Upon completion of certain courses, students will be prepared to take credentialing exams for an additional fee. Recommended Plan of Study
