This program is designed for students who are interested in gaining general knowledge and skills to work with people who have survived trauma or violence. The degree-seeking student completes general education and Human Services core courses, along with courses specific to trauma interventions and prevention. Content areas include crisis intervention, emergency management, the culture of violence, assessment, and counseling. Students will gain skills and knowledge to work in entry-level, non-clinical positions in the human services fields including substance use/addictions, child care resource and referral, domestic violence, homeless programs, sexual violence programs, corrections, and more.
To complete an A.A.S., students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Success Advisor to identify coursework that will meet degree requirements.
